Onion Games announced the Japanese release date for their game Black Bird, with a new trailer.

Onion Games is a small Japanese indie studio based in Tokyo, Shinjuku. The studio itself is quite unknown but it was created by very famous developers.

First off is Yoshiro Kimura, the producer of Shadows of the Damned and No More Heroes 1 and 2. Next is Kazuyuki Kurashima, character designer of Live A Live, Super Mario RPG and Moon: Remix RPG Adventure. Last but not least is Tom Ikeda, director of Lolipop Chainsaw.

Seeing the games these three worked on, you could guess Black Bird is quite a peculiar game, and you wouldn’t be wrong. At first glance, the game is a shoot’em up with horizontal scrolling, but you’ll quickly see how weird it is by checking the trailer below.

The game will launch digitally for Switch in Japan on October 18th. According to the studio’s official Twitter, the western release date for Steam and Switch will soon be announced.
