Indie developer White Noise Team recently released an article detailing their plans for their latest indie title, Twin Soul. The game is planned to release on PC, Linux, and Mac, as well as Xbox One and PS4. We’ve gotten a few neat screenshots of the game’s environments, which you can check out in the gallery below. You can also take a look at the game’s IndieDB page for updates on the developing horror title’s progress here.

White Noise Team describes the game as such:

Twin Soul is a coop-puzzle horror video game that takes place in an distant and desolate town somewhere in Eastern Europe. Here two players have to join together and face frightful creatures and solve twisted puzzles to survive. The game raises a variety of social problems, the expression of which can be found in the appearance of monsters, the environment and the characters themselves.

Twin Soul promises to be a co-op horror experience featuring twisted, horrifying creates and puzzle solving while integrating increasing tension between players to facilitate social problems and play on the game’s core themes. According to the article and feedback received by the developers from players of the prototype at the Game Gathering Conference, the game boasts mundane tasks and a growing atmosphere as tension and horror begin to build:

…even in the prototype of game many visitors pointed out interiors, street sounds, neighbours’ loud TV and other details to be ”well known since childhood”, some of them even said that the game “feels like home”. In the demo version that we are developing right now we will also enforce this feeling with the help of gameplay: make a sandwich, go take out the trash – all these simple mundane activities are known to everyone even outside the CIS region.

Don’t worry, though: White Noise Team promises that the familiarity and simplicity of the game’s more mundane, everyday tasks is meant to serve as a hard contrast to the increasingly odd events that will facilitate the players’ eventual descent into whatever monstrosities the team has planned for us.

Aside from this, developers also promise a much more involved experience in co-op than most games. Players will be 100% dependent on one another at all times to survive, solve puzzles, and move forward, meaning that your survival depends on the whims and skill of your partner. Most enemies will require both players to kill, adding an incentive for players both to work together and to stick together.

There is no information about a release date for Twin Soul just yet, but you can check out some of the screenshots below to get a feel for the style of the game. Planned release platforms include Linux, Mac, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
