Hound Picked Games has announced that HyperParasite is going to be launching next month for multiple platforms. The twin-stick shooter is developed by Troglobytes Games and boasts a retro-themed art-style and what looks like action-packed gameplay.

The game introduces fast-paced action with twin-stick mechanics while players take control of a mysterious smokey entity that can take control of over 60 characters in the world to make use of their unique skills and weapons. Perhaps my favorite part is the synth-wave soundtrack that compliments the pixelated style of the rogue-lite title.

Players can expect to play through 5 acts with top-down style levels that are procedurally generated. They can do this alone or with a friend through the local co-op feature as well as trying to find secrets throughout the world. You can watch the new trailer below which shows off a bunch of gameplay footage.

HyperParasite takes place in an alternative reality where World War III is nearing its demise. The parasite trawls through the world as an invisible entity capable of taking control of human beings. and has to fight in order to survive being hunted. Players can also upgrade their parasite to help progress and eventually battle over-the-top looking bosses.

The game has been available on Steam Early Access and the notes state that the developer plans to introduce more skills, items, sub-levels, more mini-bosses, and bigger bosses.

HyperParasite is slated to launch on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch next month on April 3. For those in Japan. the game will be available on April 2 on the Nintendo Switch.
