Today, HTC Nippon Corporation has unveiled new information regarding the HTC Vive Pro head-mounted display.

According to the manufacturer, the HTC Vive Pro Complete Set is now available in Japan, as the title suggests, the HTC Vive Pro Complete provides a complete package of the new virtual reality headset. The bundle includes one HTC Vive Pro, two 2.0 base stations, as well as two Vive controllers with the tracking area increasing from 6m x 6m to 10m x 10m.

The corporation also confirmed that it is planning to sell base station 2.0 separately. With that in mind, it is worth noting that the updated base stations are not compatible with the Vive 1.5 headset, 1.0 controller 1.0, and 1.0 trackers.

Aside from announcing the complete Vive Pro bundle, the company also announced that another package titled, the “Advantage Pack,” which will provide warranty for those that use the headset for commercial and other corporate uses, with that particular bundle anticipated to launch sometime this Spring.

Regarding price, the HTC Vive Pro Complete Set is currently sitting at an MRSP of 162,880 yen (1,502.08 USD). Although a North American release has yet to be announced, it is possible that the bundle will be roughly $1500 when it becomes available in the North American region.

Initially released earlier this month, the HTC Vive Pro is an updated model to the Vive and features a combined resolution of 2880 x 1600, an additional camera located at the front of the headset, built-in (and detachable) headphones, a noise-canceling microphone, and is significantly lighter compared to its predecessor.

I had the opportunity of reviewing the Vive Pro before its official release, and although it makes significant technical leaps in VR technology, one of my biggest issues was the lack of base stations and controllers. If you are interested in purchasing (or upgrading) to the Vive Pro, you can order it right now on Amazon for $799.99.
