How to Fix The Genshin Impact Signature Bug – Editing Your Nickname

Genshin Impact, Guides, mobile, Originals, PC, PS4, PS5, Switch

Genshin Impact players are currently experiencing an issue, possibly linked to a bug, making it impossible to change your Signature or Nickname in-game – here’s what happened and what you should do to fix the issue.

The feature to modify your Nickname and Signature is something included in Genshin Impact since launch. In fact, it latter triggered the inclusion of another feature: being able to add your own nickname for each player in your friendlist.

miHoYo added that feature as many players sent feedback explaining they couldn’t tell who is who anymore in their friendlists. As some players kept modifying their Nickname.

How to fix the Genshin Impact Signature, Nickname bug

Right now, the only thing we can do is wait. As you can see in the screenshot below, if you login to Genshin Impact and access the Paimon Menu, the options to change your Nickname and Signature have disappeared. You can only change your Avatar and Namecard.

miHoYo has yet to include a bug report about the issue in the Notices menu, but an explanation should be shared soon.

When is the Signature bug getting fixed by miHoYo?

Moreover, Genshin Impact leaker @SsukunaaA explained on Twitter that miHoYo is already aware of the situation and plans to fix the issue soon, possibly “by next week”:

  • INAZUMA – What the Electro Archon Baal could possibly look like

Personally speaking, as I said above, changing your Nickname and Signature is a feature that has always been into the game, so I don’t believe it’d suddenly be removed. miHoYo will definitely put out a bug notice in-game soon, as many players must have sent feedback and reported the issue already.

Genshin Impact is launching its Version 1.6, Midsummer Island Adventure, on June 9. The open world JRPG is available on PC, PS4, PS5, iOS, and Android, with a Switch version in development. However, it’s reportedly experiencing development issues.
