Hokuto Ga Gotoku for PS4 Sold Mostly Among Older Fans of Fist of the North Star – Media Create

Today Media Create published its weekly analysis following the top-twenty released on Wednesday, and it came with some interesting information on Hokuto Ga Gotoku by Sega.

As a spin-off of the Yakuza series, the game’s 123,116 copies sold are a considerably smaller number than the debut of the latest similar title, Yakuza Ishin! in 2014. Ishin debuted with 221,000 copies sold, but it was on two platforms, PS4 and PS3.

If we look at it as a Fist of the North Star game, the launch numbers are very similar to Fist of the North Star: Ken’s Rage, which sold 121,000 copies in the first week in 2012 between PS3 and Xbox 360.

According to Media Create’s retail contacts, the age of customers who purchased the game is higher than usual, focusing on men around their forties. It’s also estimated that the game sold mostly to fans of the Fist of the North Star series.

If you want to see more about the game, you can check out the  launch trailer, and another showing the game on PS Vita via remote play.
