Following Halo Infinite’s most recent appearance at E3 2019, the team at 343 Industries took a moment to reiterate all of the information for the game that has been divulged and in the process made clear some additional details of the project.

In a new blog post on the Halo Waypoint website, it was stated that 343 is planning on having “opt-in flights”, or beta phases, for Halo Infinite in the lead-up to release. These flights are said to “start small and slowly expand out until release” and will apparently be arriving first for those on Xbox One. However, flights will also be coming “a little bit later” to PC. 343 says it is making sure to treat the PC platform “as a first-class citizen” as they work on the title. Details on when these flights might first kick off weren’t divulged, but you’d have to imagine they won’t start up until 2020.

As for other information that was detailed in this post, 343 says it currently has splitscreen action “up and running internally” which seems to indicate they plan on including it in Infinite. The game is also said to support LAN and will also feature armor customization that is similar to Halo Reach. Lastly, players who hit SR 152 in Halo 5 will reportedly be receiving a token of sorts to show off their achievement once Halo Infinite launches.

There’s still a ton we have to learn about Halo Infinite, but what 343 has mentioned already sounds like they’re on the right track with Master Chief’s latest installment. Hopefully, it won’t be too long until we hear more.

Halo Infinite is set to arrive in Holiday 2020 and will be coming to Xbox One, PC, and Xbox Scarlett when it launches.
