After kickstarting the arrival of Halo: The Master Chief Collection on PC last month with the arrival of Halo: Reach, 343 Industries has now given fans more insight into the upcoming rollout of the other installments in the collection.

Announced via a new blog post on the Halo Waypoint website, it was revealed that the next game in The Master Chief Collection that will be coming to PC, that of the original Halo: Combat Evolved, is planned to enter its public flight phase next month. If you’re unaware of what this means, flights are essentially beta periods in which members of the Halo community get to test out current builds of the games that 343 is actively developing.

As for what’s slated to be playable in this flight for Halo: Combat Evolved on PC, 343 has stated that certain portions of the game’s campaign in addition to multiplayer will be what’s on full display. There will also be certain improvements that have been made to the PC version of Halo: Reach as well that will be available in this flight.

If this sounds like something you’d be interested in testing out for yourself, then you’ll need to make sure you’re apart of the Halo Insider Program. 343 selects members who are involved with this program to take part in these flights. For more information on how to sign-up, you can find it on 343’s official site.

Halo: Combat Evolved for PC still doesn’t have a release date, but 343 has stated that it will be coming in the “near future.” If it’s anything like the launch of Halo: Reach on PC, the game might see a major surge in player numbers once it arrives.
