During an interview with DualShockers, I asked 10 Chambers Collective about whether their Early Access title GTFO currently has, or will later include accessibility options. At the moment it seems as if the team hasn’t made steps into adding features, but they do seem to be on board with adding them at a later date.

The game has only just launched onto PC through Steam Early Access, so there’s a time for the game to have new features added throughout this period as it heads towards its 1.0 release. When I asked Svante Vinternatt if the game has any accessible features such as HUD scaling and color-blind modes, he responded with, “We might already. I’m not sure if we already have scaling and stuff like adding what you want.” He also states that one of the members of 10 Chambers Collective is color blind, “if it works for him, I guess it works for other people that are colorblind as well.”

He also explains that there are other things for the small team to focus on and that they need to discuss the topic more. “I know we need to make a decision as a team, but absolutely. I don’t see why not. It’s just a matter of time and prioritization at the moment.”

I also wanted to know how diverse they were going to make their ping system, using Apex Legends as an example, which was met with praise from disabled gamers who could just ping items, enemies, and locations without having to worry about voice communications.

GTFO relies heavily on voice communications but does allow players to ping lockers and doors. “We tried having everything pingable in GTFO but then people just started moving towards the pings and stopped communicating that much. We felt like that kind of ruined some of that experience.”

GTFO lands on Steam Early Access for PC today. There are no other platforms planned, but the team would love to release it on other platforms. You can read our preview on the game here and watch the above gameplay video. The full interview will be going live tomorrow.
