While Focus Home Interactive is not attending E3 2019 on the show floor, they are still making a few announcements this week. Two days ago they announced a release date for The Surge 2 and today they gave GreedFall, an RPG from Bound by Flame and The Technomancer developer Spiders, a firm release window of September 2019.

This does mean GreedFall will be releasing in the same month as The Surge 2. We first heard about Spiders’ new game in 2017, though news on the game has been light since its appearance at E3 2018. DualShockers enjoyed what we saw of the game then, and the developers have taken the time to polish the game even more since then. As you can see below, some new screenshots for the game were recently released as well.

While those of us looking forward to will be pleased about the tighter release window, the developers are hoping to draw more newcomers in with a brand new story trailer and some more story details. GreedFall’s story sees all kinds of treasure hunters, mercenaries, soldiers, and settlers come to a remote magical island in the hopes of finding riches or a cure for disease. The player’s primary goal is to find that cure, and the story and gameplay allow one to accomplish that goal throughout a variety of different paths. Like many modern RPGs, choices matter in GreedFall and will have a noticeable impact in how players approach missions as well as how the plot unfolds.

You can check out the new story trailer for GreedFall below. GreedFall will release for PC, PS4, and Xbox One sometime in September 2019.
