During today’s call going over financial numbers for the fourth quarter and the entirety of the past fiscal year, Take-Two Interactive, the parent company of Rockstar Games, revealed some staggering new numbers for both Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2.

Starting with the more recent release of Red Dead Redemption 2, it was confirmed that the game has now sold-in, or shipped to retail, over 24 million copies in total. This is an increase of just about 1 million copies since we last heard the figure stood at 23 million back in February. Even though these numbers are quite impressive, they have tailed off much more quickly compared to that of Grand Theft Auto 5.

Speaking of GTA5, Take-Two also confirmed the latest shipping numbers for the game that just won’t die and they continue to be baffling as always. Grand Theft Auto 5 has now shipped over 110 million copies lifetime, which is an increase of 10 million since the last totals we learned of back in late 2018. If you thought that the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 would noticeably slow down GTA5, well, it seems you were wrong.

Every time I write one of these stories I continue to be astounded at the staying power of Grand Theft Auto 5 even though I know I shouldn’t be shocked anymore. It’s just so ridiculous to me that this game is still selling over 10 million copies per year after nearly six years on the market. I’m intrigued in seeing how Red Dead Redemption 2 does in the long run as well, but it surely will never even come close to reaching the totals that GTA5 has now cleared.

As of now, you can get both games on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in the case of Grand Theft Auto 5 if you already don’t own either.
