Granblue Fantasy Gets New Arc, Tales and Love Live! Crossovers, and Plenty of Bikinis and Events

Today Cygames hosted the Granblue Fantasy Summer Festival in Osaka, Japan, and the prolific developer came in hot with plenty of announcements for the summer and the beginning of the fall.

First of all, we’re getting the usual healthy intake of swimsuits and summer wear, including Rosetta and Ilsa in bikinis, Naoise in summer outfit, and Yuisis in yukata. A set of DLC skins (Eternal Swimsuit Skin) will also be available giving swimsuits to three more characters.

The summer event will be titled Biribiri Electrical Summer, and it will feature Olivia wearing a bikini and a mysterious summer.

A new EXII class is coming for our protagonists, and it’s the Magic Knight, requiring to level up Ninja to 20 in order to unlock it.

Plenty of side stories have been announced including three crossovers, one with Tales of Asteria (of which you can see a trailer below)one with the popular anime series Love Live! Sunshine!!, which will feature protagonist Chika Takami, and one with the super-popular Pretty Cure (or Glitter Force as it’s known in some countries).

Element skills are being raised to a level cap of 100, alongside a renewed crew background and jukebox. Players are able to change their background and BGM individually and at no cost, with no cooldowns. SSR Yngwie also got his final limit break. This update has actually been added today and is already available.

In the fall we’re also getting new Arcanum characters, including Monica. Last, but not least, a new arc titled “Travelers of the Stars” will be starting on July 26th, and you can check out the trailer below, alongside all the relevant slides and the full livestream.

Granblue Fantasy recently celebrated passing 21 million players and released its summer commercial. During this same event, we also heard that the upcoming console game for PS4 Granblue Fantasy Project Re: Link will get another reveal between December 15th and December 16th, when the developer will host Cygames Fes at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba, near Tokyo.
