Get in the Holiday Spirit in This Week’s Grand Theft Auto Online Update

To coincide with the most wonderful time of the year, Rockstar Games has announced a brand-new update for Grand Theft Auto Online, which includes a holiday-themed event, a new vehicle, as well as several in-game promotions.

According to the press release, the new update has introduced this year’s Grand Theft Auto Online Festive Surprise features a slew of holiday-themed unlocks, which are available now until Friday, January 5. The new event also features Krampus masks which will open up to players in-game starting on Christmas Eve.

Aside from the holiday-themed festivities, Grand Theft Auto Online‘s new update also introduces a brand-new car into the game, the Ubermacht Sentinel Classic, which is now purchasable at Southern San Andreas Super Autos. Additionally, a new adversary mode, called Occupy has also been added.

Occupy is very similar to Call of Duty’s Domination mode and has up to sixteen players during the match at least one member of the team is required to hold a zone long enough for it to secure the area. The more zones a squad owns, the faster they’ll gain points, and the team who reaches the target score first wins the match. On top of that, now until Monday, January 8 players to participate in the new mode will receive double GTA$ and RP.

In other Grand Theft Auto Online news, last week, the developer dropped an extensive DLC update to the game titled The Doomsday Heist. Aside from a new story add-on, the developer also confirmed that a new weapon set to appear in its upcoming (and highly anticipated) title Red Dead Redemption 2 is also up for grabs.

Grand Theft Auto Online is available now via Grand Theft Auto V on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
