A few minutes after the Genshin Impact 1.5 livestream was announced, the Chinese voice actor of Zhongli teased that miHoYo has a surprise in store that was not discovered by leakers or leaked beforehand – moreover, he built up the hype for a roadmap and Inazuma, bringing us to this article’s creation. Here’s what happened.

Once miHoYo announced the Genshin Impact 1.5 livestream on Bilibili, the Chinese VA of Zhongli quoted the announcement. He mentioned: “Would you believe me if I said the 1.5 livestream has exciting news even leakers didn’t reveal?”.

Later on, when asked to elaborate, Zhongli’s Chinese VA added: “miHoYo finally discovered that the way to resist leakers, is to be the leaker. And make leakers the clowns.” (Credits to a certain Genshin fan Discord, and to Music for the Chinese to English translations.)

Analysis, what to expect from the 1.5 livestream

The first message from the Zhongli’s Chinese VA didn’t mean much. As it was entirely possible he missed one of the leaks. However, the second message definitely makes all this newsworthy.

The biggest scenario which comes to mind is miHoYo revealing a new roadmap for future updates. An update roadmap detailing what Ver 1.6 to 1.8 will contain, possibly revealing Inazuma’s release date.

Remember, a few days after Genshin Impact first released on September 28, 2020: miHoYo published a roadmap detailing Ver 1.1 to 1.3. This is how we knew from the start Dragonspine was coming in 1.2. And that the Xiao banner and Lantern Festival were in 1.3. However, no new roadmap was published since. Now might be the time.

Genshin Impact 1.5 livestream – Will we get a teaser for Inazuma?

It’s definitely possible we get to hear more about Inazuma. We learned a lot more in-game since release. But no trailer or promotional material has mentioned the region since the Teyvat chapter story trailer.

Personally speaking, I don’t believe the rumors about the game’s content like Baizhu / Dendro characters or The Chasm are delayed on purpose. As for the decade long development plan. I do believe Genshin Impact will be around for 12 years. But I’d rather bet that means miHoYo is already planning content coming after the Teyvat chapter and its seven regions.

In any case, we should get all the answers with the livestream tomorrow. We will be covering the stream live with all the announcements, so stay tuned.

Genshin Impact is available on PS4, PC, and mobile. A PS5 version is coming soon. A Switch version was also announced, but we haven’t heard anything about it since.
