Epic Games announced new details for Fortnite’s upcoming “Survive the Storm” update launching August 29.

Survive the Storm brings a few new modes to the game including “Survive the Storm Mode”, which puts players to the test to build up strong defences during the day so they can survive hordes of enemies at night. In this mode players will be able to work together to build forts and traps while the sun is still out because in the nighttime hours players will be up against different enemies that get stronger after every passing day.

Additionally, a new mode called “Mutant Storms” will be available, which allows players earn special loot by using modifiers that limit health or feature enraged rusks.

Other than modes, the update comes with a “Hydraulic Weapon Set” that includes nine “high-impact” weapons. Also, there will be new heroes and defenders with performance enhancements and brand new art for the Canny Valley Outpost.

Fortnite is a survival co-op game where up to four players must scavenge a map for supplies. They’ll use these to build up a base with traps, walls, and other defensive structures to keep out waves of enemies.

Recently, Fortnite reached over a million players which was announced with the reveal of survival mode, a tease for the Survive the Storm update.

Fortnite is available now in Early Access on PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac.
