After weeks of speculation and days of teasing, Season 5 of Fortnite is almost upon us and Epic Games is attempting to help us prepare. Today, the developer revealed that the Fortnite servers will officially be down starting at 4:00 a.m. EDT (1:00 a.m. PDT) so that they can properly implement the new content into the game.

While Epic Games didn’t comment on how long the game will be down for, generally speaking, it usually lasts for around three or four hours, which would mean that it should be ready bright and early for the world. This, of course, can change and it might be appropriate to expect some extended downtime given the difficulty the developer experienced while trying to fix the Playgrounds game mode.

The developer also announced that patch notes for the new season will be made available as soon as the update is live, so be sure to check back tomorrow morning for that.

Fortnite is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC, as well as iOS and Android devices.
