Fortnite Has Now Surpassed 200 Million Players Across All Platforms

Look, everyone already knew that Fortnite was one of the biggest games of all-time, but today’s new piece of information still somehow continues to stagger.

As originally reported by Bloomberg and later confirmed by Epic Games via GamesIndustry.biz, Fortnite has now surpassed the 200 million player mark across all of the game’s platforms. This is a massive achievement that is rarely seen in gaming, especially from a game that has only been out in a period of less than 2 years. Being on practically every platform imaginable (especially mobile) surely helped Epic Games reach this mark quickly, but that doesn’t make it any less impressive.

When player counts were last reported, Fortnite had reached the 125 million mark in June of this year. Hitting 200 million players marks a 60% increase since that time. It’s also an increase of five times what the registered users were in January of 2018.

What’s maybe the most asinine part of all of this is that Fortnite is still technically slated as an Early Access title by Epic Games. If that moniker hasn’t lost all meaning to you yet in 2018, then I implore you to take a look at this game’s user base to finally change your stance.

Fortnite seems to be here to stay at this point, so you better get ready to keep hearing about it and seeing new dances performed by children for years to come.
