In an interview with Engadget Final Fantasy XV Director Hajime Tabata, said that his team is looking to possibly add a level editor of some sort to the PC version of the game.

When asked about the modding community, Tabata-san said:

“There were limitations to the game to ensure it ran on consoles, but that’s less of an issue with PCs — especially when it comes to modding. PC gaming has a culture of customization and modification, and we want to ensure that those gamers can do what they want to the game. We’re looking into the possibilities of a dedicated level editor. We want to ensure that gamers will be playing FFXV for a long time to come.”

Lots of new information about Final Fantasy XV’s future came out of Gamescom this week. Including a PC port of the game that’ll be available through Steam, as well as a surprisingly cute pocket version of XV for mobile devices. Tabata-san also low key hinted at the possibility of a Switch version of the game on a panel at the event. Square Enix also announced that they’d be collaborating with Ubisoft on an Assassin’s Creed themed Final Fantasy XV crossover event that’ll be added in the form of an update.

The latest DLC coming to XV includes Episode Ignis as well as the Comrades multiplayer. Comrades will include an extensive male and female character creator where you’ll be able to bring your dream Final Fantasy hero to life if you don’t already play Final Fantasy XIV.

Final Fantasy XV is available now on Xbox One and PS4. The Pocket Edition is coming to iOS and Android devices sometime in the fall of this year. The PC version will be available in early 2018.
