Final Fantasy XIV Update 4.4 “Prelude in Violet” Coming September with Tons of Content and Features

Today, during the latest “Letter from the Producer LiveFinal Fantasy XIV broadcast Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida and Global Community Producer Toshio Murouchi revealed update 4.4.

The patch will be titled “Prelude in Violet” and will come in mid-September.

Yet, before we get into the new major patch, update 4.36 will come on August 7th and will bring the Pagos Expedition with its snowy fields and Final Fantasy XI-themed rewards.

The Final Fantasy XIV Companion app for iOS and Android was supposed to release in “late July” but now it has been slightly shifted to a more generic “late July/early August” window to give the launch a bit more breathing space. On to update 4.4, it will come with the usual metric ton of content.

We’re getting new side quests of the Hildibrand and Four Lords series, alongside Doman Reconstruction quests. Two new instanced dungeons will be implemented: The Burn and the hard version of Saint Mocianne’s Arboretum.

New trials include Suzaku and Suzaku Extreme, and new raids are coming with Omega: Alphascape and its savage version.

New job adjustment are coming, including the increasing of role action slots.

The third installment of the Forbidden Land of Eureka will bring a new region and the Logos system.

After years of waiting, we’ll finally be able to progress past 1st Lieutenant in our grand company of choice with the implementation of the Captain rank, which will come with a related update to squadrons.

Housing is also getting an update with mannequins and new customization features, and the Gold Saucer will get a new GATE featuring platforming puzzles.

Even the ceremony of Eternal Bonding will be updated with new ceremony types and anniversary ceremonies.
