Those mad lads at EA Sports finally did it. The fans have been begging for James Tavernier from Rangers to get a Headliners card for weeks and, with the promo almost over, they dropped him into FIFA 21 today. It is an exceptional card that should easily get at least one more upgrade. After all, Rangers hasn’t lost or drew a league game in the Scottish Premiership since September. And, for his part, Tavernier has been playing out of his mind all season. If you have the coins to spare before Team of the Year, I would probably grab this as a supersub. Whether he fits your team or not almost doesn’t matter.
Seriously, just look at his face stats. Even without an upgrade, he’s already a proud member of the Gullit Gang (80+ stats on all six face stats). And when you dig deeper, he continues to impress. Those stats mean he can play all over the field, which is why I’d get this SBC done if I were you. Regardless of your position of need, he can fill in.
So, if your CDM starts to lag or your striker picks up an injury, this man can do a job all over the field. I wouldn’t play him at goalie, but Tavernier is an incredible tool to have in your FIFA 21 toolbelt. If you need some help completing him, be sure to check out the solutions below for inspiration. He’s not going to be cheap, but the 180,000 coin asking price seems well worth the player you’re getting. Plus, fodder prices should be coming down a bit over the weekend with no Icon SBC available.
