Yesterday we saw the official trailer for Ubisoft’s upcoming Far Cry 6 of which features Breaking Bad antagonist Giancarlo Esposito and Anthony Gonzalez Coco (2017). Since the trailer landed and details about the game have come to light, Giancarlo has also appeared in a few interviews openly discussing the game.

An internal interview with Ubisoft Giancarlo explains who his character in the game is. He explains that Antón Castillo is driven to lead and create a better world for his people and that he manipulates his son, Diego Castillo by constantly questioning him about what he thinks. He also touches on production, detailing how the actors used motion capture technology to capture their acting.

However, he seemed to find it a different experience to act with nothing to reference, which in other interviews, such as one with Entertainment Tonight, he explains that his role in Disney’s The Mandalorian is filmed within those large sets that make use Epic Games’ technology to track a background that’s displayed in real-time around the actors. Additionally, he seemed blown away by the realism of the CGI for Far Cry 6.

Through the trailer we see Antón making his son hold an active grenade as he walks him to a rooftop, asking him questions. The general feel is that Antón is the antagonist of the story, but Giancarlo hopes that players will recognize that his character is a human being with a wide spectrum of emotions just as anyone else and that he’s a man who is conflicted.

Far Cry 6 should be launching next year on February 18 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, and Google Stadia. Those grabbing the game on current-generation consoles will be able to upgrade the game to the next-gen version for free. Oh, and if you’re one of those that like splashing out on collectors editions, this game will come with a flamethrower. Don’t worry, it’s not a real one…I don’t think?
