With titles that include Assassin’s Creed Valhalla and Immortals Fenyx Rising tucked safely under their belt, Ubisoft had to, unfortunately, delay Far Cry 6 from its February 18 of 2021 until April 1, 2021, at the earliest, with March 31, 2022, being the latest date of arrival.

Following in the steps of other gaming studios, Ubisoft stated that due to devs having to work from home in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, the development would be at a slower pace.

Thankfully though, we can still look in awe at their last trailer which released last year until we get more from the studio and to please eager fans even more, French animation studio, Unit Image, has unveiled a behind the scenes look at the stars of the title that include some incredible CG footage.

Behind the Curtain

The video starts out with the opening of the Far Cry 6 trailer showing Antón Castillo played by Giancarlo Esposito of Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian, lighting up a cigar which then moves to Esposito in real life doing the same movements in motion capture.

Throughout the minute and a half video, fans get to see a glimpse of how the world in Far Cry 6 has been designed as the developers add in stunning colours, shadows, textures and much more.

In one image, we see Anthony Gonzalez, who plays Diego Castillo in the game, portray how amazing the shadow and lighting work is done as they both move smoothly across his face.

We also see a simplified short sequence of the world of Far Cry 6 that includes large buildings, monuments and towers that will provide a structural base for the title that’s based on a fictional island nation of Yara.

Ubisoft will hold its Ubisoft Forward online press event on June 12 at E3 2021 so if we don’t hear anything before then regarding its release, here’s hoping there will be some news then as this looks to be a stunning game.
