Despite an incredibly rough 2018 for Bethesda and Fallout 76 (and even a rough start to 2019), the publisher has remained committed to turning things around for the online survival title moving forward.

Today, Bethesda took those first steps by announcing the latest plans for Fallout 76 which includes a sequence of new updates. As revealed on Bethesda’s official website, Fallout 76’s next update will be arriving next week on January 14. This new update was likened to the one released last month and is said to focus on performance and stability, in addition to addressing feedback from the game’s player base. As of this moment, Bethesda hasn’t released the patch notes yet for next week’s update but they said that it’ll focus on fixes to challenges, quests, perks, and weapons.

While next week’s patch would normally be the only one released in the month for Fallout 76, Bethesda also announced plans to have another update for the game drop before what they hope will be the end of January. Details on this update are somewhat sparse but it is said that this patch will look to address vendors, Legendary mods, and ongoing issues that are stemming from perks.

In Fallout 76’s current state, it seems like the only way the game can be “fixed” and made more alluring is with updates like the ones Bethesda is talking about. Hopefully, these two patches can be the first saving grace for the game that has seemed to have no positive results in its nearly first two months on the market.

Fallout 76 is out now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
