Today Nihon Falcom hosted its general meeting of shareholders at the Palace Hotel Tachikawa in Tokyo, and besides announcing The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV – The End of Saga, President Toshihiro Kondo had a lot of information to share about the future of the developer.

The content of the question and answer session was reported by Twitter user すずき.

First of all, we learn that Ys Origin sold 300,000 copies in North America and Europe. Ys I & II Chronicles sold 250,000 copies, Ys – Oath of Felghana – also sold 250,000 copies, and The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky FC sold 350,000 copies.

Interestingly, overall sales for the developer are located 70% in Japan, 15% in Asia, and 15% in North America and Europe.

We also hear that the demo of Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana was quite popular so Kono-san would like to satisfy the demand for similar initiatives as much as possible.

Kono-san then promised that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel IV – The End of Saga will give a proper ending to the series. Since it’s the conclusion of the Trails of Cold Steel saga and the end of the story of the story focused on the Erebonian Empire, he aims to move the Trails/Kiseki series (which is going to continue) to a different area in the future.

The series has continued for a very long time, and many have been involved with it for thirteen or fourteen years. Since it’s difficult to attract new users without implementing new systems and features, Kondo-san doesn’t know whether it could take two or three years, but he would like the series to reach a “new development.”

Last, but not least, Kondo-san was asked about PC support. He mentioned that for the local Japanese market development is focused on home console, but requests for PC versions are growing mainly from North America. That’s why the company has been talking with local publishers on whether they can handle that. That’s how the releases of the Legend of Heroes and Ys series on Steam happened and depending on the situation, he would like to support PC.
