Koei Tecmo Games just published the final boxart for the RPG adaptation of Fairy Tail by Gust, coming on March 19, 2020. The boxart was already teased in the past, along with the Limited Edition’s swimsuit poster, but Hiro Mashima didn’t finalize them until now.

We have the standard edition’s boxart, featuring most of the playable characters in the game including Natsu and the main faces of the Fairy Tail guild.

This is the B 2 poster included in the Japanese physical Limited Edition of Fairy Tail RPG, titled the “Guild Box”. The illustration features Plue, Lucy, Erza, and Wendy in swimsuits by Hiro Mashima.
The Guild Box contains:

  • A copy of the game
  • This B2 poster
  • 3 character 3D cards
  • A set of stickers

Fairy Tail also has a Digital Limited Edition, it’s the same in Japan and in the west.  It most notably includes an Atelier Ryza costume for Lucy.

Lastly, early print copies, physical and digital, will include a bonus costume for Erza. Screenshots for Lucy in Ryza’s outfit and Erza’s bonus costumes weren’t revealed yet.

A physical limited edition wasn’t announced in the west yet by Koei Tecmo, but it’ll probably come soon and it’ll probably be the same as the Japanese one, with the swimsuit poster. Fairy Tail is getting a worldwide release, and the western versions will have the Japanese voices. As far as I know, Koei Tecmo didn’t say yet whether the game is dubbed in English or not, but I assume it isn’t. In any case, I don’t believe there’s any reason to import the game, but if you do so, multiple shop-specific preorder bonuses in Japan were also announced, so you should check which shop has the goods you like the most. There’s also another special Limited Edition exclusively available on the Japanese Gust Shop.  It includes the same contents as the Guild Box plus:

  • A B2 Tapestry
  • A paperweight
  • The Fairy Tail RPG OST, on two discs (This probably isn’t the full OST of the game and it’ll release separately later on)
  • Five postcards

No sample illustrations are available yet.
