During the UBS Global Technology Conference 2017 in San Francisco, Electronic Arts Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen talked about Bioware’s Anthem and EA Motive’s upcoming action game.

Jorgensen mentioned that Electronic Arts is trying to bring up great new titles that could turn into franchises. As an example of that, he brought up BioWare’s Anthem. He was actually in Edmonton visiting the team and playing the game alongside Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson, and it’s “Looking very exciting.” According to Jorgensen “the team has done an amazing job on it,” and EA is “very excited about that for next year.”

Jade Raymond’s Motive team in Montreal is developing a new action franchise which is probably going to be released in the fiscal year 2021 (meaning between April 2020 and March 2021). That, Jorgensen explains, “also looks fantastic and very exciting” with “a lot of interesting gameplay he doesn’t think anyone has ever seen before.”

Interestingly, we hear that EA has been able to hire over a hundred people for the Motive team in Montreal coming from “incredible studios” with action game pedigree.

Recently, we have heard about an internal milestone review meeting for Anthem. If you want to see more about the game, you can check out the teaser trailer, and the spectacular gameplay reveal.

Anthem will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC, with BioWare and Electronic Arts currently aiming for a 2018 release window.
