Koei Tecmo launched another batch of character trailers for their upcoming open-world Musou title Shin Sangokumusou 8, which will be released in the west as Dynasty Warriors 9.
The trailers focus on five playable characters from the game: Deng Ai, Yueying, Yuan Shao, Cao Xiu, and Zhu Ran. The individual trailers highlight the weapons and fighting styles of each of the characters along with showing off some of the game’s environments.
Additionally, the publisher released new information about how players can go about exploring the new open world and the different activities that they can partake in. During exploration, players will be able to spot watch towers and climb to the top to check their surroundings. By doing so, portions of the map will be uncovered, displaying useful information about the surrounding area. This is a mechanic similar to other open world games, such as, Horizon Zero Dawn and Assassins Creed.
By looking around, players will also be able to spot materials that can be collected and used to develop and strengthen weapons and items. Additional ways of collecting items include setting up traps, fishing in town, and hunting.

Dynasty Warriors 9 will release in Japan on February 8th, exclusively for PS4. The western launch will happen just a few days later, on February 13 with an added Xbox One and PC version.
