There’s been an eleven-year gap between the release of Devil May Cry 4 and Devil May Cry 5. So it’s pretty reasonable to assume that some fans may be iffy on the game’s storyline going into the fifth entry in the series. Fear not; Capcom has provided fans with a handy trailer that’ll get you up to speed with the story so far. You can check it out for yourself down below.
Devil May Cry 5 takes place several years after the events that transpired in the fourth game. You’ll play as a much older Dante as well as a seemingly more hardened Nero, who now runs his own demon hunting business.
The Devil May Cry series is all about style, and what represents style better than a real-life Son of Sparda coat. Oh, and also, the actual game looks pretty damn impressive as it’s running on the RE Engine used to power both Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil VII: Biohazard.
It’ll be interesting to see how Devil May Cry 5 against some of Capcom’s other recently released titles, Monster Hunter World and Resident Evil 2. Both of which saw big sales for their respective series, and rightfully so as they’re both amazing games. Devil May Cry seems a bit unpredictable as many fans didn’t click with Ninja Theory’s reboot title DMC: Devil May Cry back in 2013 and the series took a very long hiatus since the last entry. Here’s to hoping this mainline entry does really well.
Devil May Cry 5 is launching on March 8 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. If you’d like, you can pre-order the game over on Amazon right now.
