Destiny 2 Expansion DLC Curse of Osiris Confirmed

Earlier this week DualShockers reported on the leaked Destiny 2 DLC Curse of Osiris and how it was leaked by the Xbox Store. While the Xbox Store can be considered a reliable source for information, we now know, thanks to Bungie’s Marketing Director Eric Osborne, that the description for the expansion is real.

Osborne wrote on Twitter “Curse of Osiris is not a leak. It’s real!” and while knowing that we’re going to Mercury is an amazing feeling, we still don’t have a release date.

The information that was leaked on the Xbox Store included this description:

“Destiny 2 Expansion I: Curse of Osiris continues your Guardian’s journey with all-new story missions and adventures set in a new destination, Mercury. Journey through time and space to learn the secrets of Osiris, avert a dark future, and rebuild the ties between the legendary Warlock and his greatest student – Ikora Rey.”

The listing also includes a number of features that players can expect to experience when the DLC finally launches:

  • Explore Mercury and its mysterious “Infinite Forest.”
  • New story missions and adventures.
  • New themed weapons, armor, and gear to earn.
  • New cooperative activities.
  • New competitive multiplayer arenas.
  • And more…

While dedicated Destiny 2 players may have known about the DLC from the image included in the expansion’s cover–the symbol for Osiris himself–it’s encouraging to know what is coming down the pipeline, and how the game is going to keep players on their never-ending quest for loot.

Hopefully we’ll be traveling through time and space to before Mercury was partially eradicated thanks to the Red Legion’s superweapon. You can still visit the planet now in the form of the Crucible map Altar of Flame.

Destiny 2 is available now for Xbox One, PS4, and will come out on PC on October 24.
