Izanagi Games held an event for Death Come True at cinema Shinjuku Wald 9 on February 6, and the event was streamed on YouTube by Famitsu. Here’s what we learned.

The event featured Death Come True Producer Shinsuke Umeda,  Scenarist, Game Director Kazutaka Kodaka, Film Director Hayato Ando, and the cast revealed so far:

  • Kanata Hongo, who plays the protagonist, Makoto Karaki.
  • Chiaki Kuriyama, police investigator Akane Sachimura.
  • Yuki Kaji, the mysterious hotel receptionist.
  • Win Morisaki, genius police investigator Nozomu Kuji.
  • Chihiro Yamamoto, psychopath girl Nene Kurushima.
  • and Jiro Sato, news anchor Kenichi Mino.

The event featured all the cast revealed so far except Jiro Sato.

Death Come True will be available in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese.

The theme song of Death Come True will be handled by rock band Kamisama, Boku wa Kizuite Shimatta. The group, known as KamiBoku, already did theme songs for mobile game Star Ocean Anamnesis, the anime Chiruran Nibun no Ichi, and the TV drama Anata no koto wa sorehodo.

Death Come True is currently scheduled to launch in June 2020, on PC, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android.

The last and most surprising announcement is that Death Come True is scheduled to be sold for 1900 Yen, around 18 dollars, which is incredibly cheap. Producer Shinsuke Umeda explained the game is cheap so that movie fans can try it out. They made the game’s price similar to a movie’s ticket price. UmedaP stressed out this is what they’re planning to do but it’s not set in stone yet, so the price might change a bit.

The cast members also shared spoiler-free impressions on Death Come True. Kanata Hongo mentioned how it has many gimmicks you could only do in a game and is full of Kodaka-ism stuff, meaning you’ll really enjoy Death Come True if you liked Kodaka’s past stuff. Danganronpa fans should look forward to it. Yuki Kaji also mentioned DCT has a lot of content if you’re aiming to 100% it as there are really a lot of different routes with all the choices you can pick.

Jiro Sato, who couldn’t make it to the event, also recorded a video message for it. In a nutshell, he praised the game’s originality as it mixes games and movies, and mentioned how brilliant the other members of the cast were for managing to handle and act all the different routes. He also joked about how he doesn’t know much about games but he knows Death Come True will definitely turn out to be fun.

When the cast and staff shared some last words as the event was ending, Chiaki Kuriyama, in particular, mentioned she’s a huge fan of Yuki Kaji and Kazutaka Kodaka so she was at 200% during the game’s shooting. Death Come True is definitely promising.

The new trailer, narrated by Yuki Kaji, is included below, along with the whole stream if you’re a Yuki Kaji fan and wanna hear his cool voice and brighten your day.
