In a press release, Motion Twin and Evil Empire have revealed that Dead Cells have sold over 3 million copies over the course of its shelf life ever since it first came to early access on Steam back in 2017. On top of that, the game received its 19th update as well. The update is available on PC right now. However, console players will have to wait for it as it is planned to release in the coming weeks.

The update includes many changes to the game, including changes to items and weapons. It was noted that plenty of them were either completely reworked, nerfed, or boosted. Crossbows were included in those alterations and are now two-handed weapons. There is also a backpack that allows players to wield a weapon while holding a two-handed weapon.

The in-game economy and merchants also received changes as well. Gold-scaling has been removed and gear price will now increase with item levels. Prices have also changed on many items in the game. Shop categories are also now color based rather than equipment based. Players will also now get a shop reroll for free.

Some other changes players might notice is that scrolls have been removed from ++ and S weapons. However, to compensate, more scrolls have been added to early biomes and enemy damage and gear damage have been reduced.

For those who want to go deep into the needy greedy of the patch notes, you can do so right here.

Dead Cells is currently available for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch. The game is also available on Xbox Game Pass. Make sure to check out DualShocker’s official review of the game right here if you are still a bit weary on picking the game up.
