In the middle of last month, DayZ received its February Update (ver. 1.11). The incredibly popular survival hit’s update added a new weapon and fixed a huge bunch of bugs, unfortunately, along with that, it also broke a couple of things. Bohemia Interactive have today, however, released a hotfix for those problems, taking the servers offline for both console and PC versions of the game – below, you can find the full patch notes for the DayZ March update (hotfix ver. 1.11.1) .
Dear Survivors,
Console servers will be taken down at 14:00 (CET) to deploy a hotfix. It will approximately take an hour.PC will follow soon at 15:00 (CET), which is also projected to also take an hour or so.

What is in the update
This time out there’s nothing major. Seeing as it’s simply a hotfix, that’s exactly what the developers are doing – fixing the issues that are currently hot within DayZ. Whether you’ve run into any of those issues or not though, you’ll still need to update the game and you can see exactly what’s getting fixed below.

Below are the full patch notes for today’s DayZ update – next to the fixes, you’ll find the platform that the specific parts of the update are on.
FIXED
- Weapons would not spawn with attachments (PC and Console)
- The truck battery could not be charged using the battery charger (PC and Console)
- The flag pole was refreshing bases more often than designed (every server restart) (PC and Console)
- The universal flashlight could be attached to handguards without a rail (PC and Console)
- The player could not switch to VSS iron sights when using PSO optics (PC and Console)
- A client crash related to attachment slots on base building objects (Console)
Is this the end of DayZ updates?
While this definitely won’t spell the end of updates for survival game DayZ, it’s unlikely there will be many more large scale ones. Most of the core DayZ team have reportedly been moved over to over Bohemia projects, this includes work on franchises like Arma. Modding will still be prevalent within the game for a long time though.
