While speaking with DualShockers in a recent interview, Polish developer Reikon Games has revealed that its upcoming debut project, RUINER, will be roughly six to eight hours long.
According to the developer the number can fluctuate as the game very heavily depends on the player’s skill, patience, and dedication (as do most difficult games). The above-given six to eight hour range is only what Reikon Games assumes will be the average playthrough. But again, depending on how fast you learn and/or how much time you want to invest in mastering the game’s mechanics, you could be looking at a final time of less than six hours or much more than eight hours.
Further, as you level up and unlock new abilities and weapons, you can experiment more and more with a variety of setups and playstyles. You can always change your set of skills and equipment on the fly, in addition to come back to any level that you’ve already completed, and replay it for fun or to try it with your new and more varied abilities. If you decide to toy around with this feature, again, that six to eight hour range may not hold true to your final playtime.
In the same interview, Reikon Games also confirmed to me that the brutal cyberpunk action shooter will be 120 FPS on PC and over 30 FPS on consoles. In fact, the former actually had to be capped because of over-optimization. As for the resolution, across each version it will run at full HD, 1080p.
RUINER is poised to release later this month on September 26th for PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Additionally a Nintendo Switch version has been considered, but at the moment Reikon Games has nothing concrete to announce.
