If you were ever sad and frustrated in a game when you couldn’t pet one of its furballs, Cyberpunk 2077 has your feline-petting desires fulfilled. According to Miranda Sanchez, who is the Executive Editor of Guides at IGN and recently got some hands-on time with the game, as you stroll through the Night City you can pet one of the cats found wandering about. Unfortunately, though, there’s no word on this particular gameplay preview from Night City Wire if there are any dogs in the game you can also pet.

In Miranda’s four-hour demo, she stated that along with a world littered with collectibles like burritos, empty syringes, and crafting supplies she also found time to make a feline friend. “Oh, and I pet a cat! That’s very important” Sanchez continued “I didn’t see any dogs for you dog people out there”. Of course, this could mean that our loyal, four-legged companions hadn’t yet made an appearance and could very well show up later on in the game but at least we know we can pet a kitty and that’s enough for most people.

Included in Sanchez’s preview, she also discussed that there are plenty of side quests and activities that include tracking down bounties. Just like CD Projekt’s previous title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, NPCs are scattered within Cyberpunk 2077‘s world offering side quests like hacking intel and many other endeavors. Sanchez also touched upon the futuristic cars and stated that with “the press of a button, your chosen car (you can have more than one, and if you’ve got the right skills, you can hack into and steal random cars too!) will appear nearby”, again giving players a throw-back to when Geralt whistles for his horse Roach in The Witcher 3.

Unfortunately, we will have to wait just a little bit longer to pet those Cyberpunk cats as the game has now been delayed until November 19, 2020. The statement on social media read: “Those of you who are familiar with the way we make games know that we won’t ship something which is not ready,” CD Projekt Red’s statement simply said. “Our intention is to make Cyberpunk 2077 something that will stay with you for years to come. In the end, we hope you understand why we did what we did.”

For those of you who love a good comic, (I know I do!) CD Projekt Red are releasing a Cyberpunk 2077 comic series that should tie you over until the game launches. The first issue seems to come in at 32 pages and is priced at $3.99 and will be made available on September 9, 2020.

Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on November 19, 2020 for Xbox One, PS4, and PC
