Recently, there have been rumors about departures at The Witcher 3‘s studio CD Projekt RED, mostly fueled by anonymous reports on the job search site Glassdoor.

Today the developer issued an official statement via Twitter, responding to the rumors, and giving a bird’s eye overview of the situation.

The message, signed by Co-Founder Marcin Iwiński and Studio Head Adam Badowski, doesn’t deny that there may have been departures but explains that the studio always strives to be a good workplace for its developers.

Departures, whether low or high profiles, don’t endanger the project as a whole, and we hear that Cyberpunk 2077 is “progressing as planned.”

You can read the full statement below.

From a personal point of view, I often see news about departures inflated in importance by this or that media outlet. Developers moving on to new challenges, especially after a project’s completion, is definitely a standard in this industry.

That being said, you can read the full message above, and draw your own conclusions regardless of my insight.

Hopefully, we’ll hear more about Cyberpunk 2077 soon. In the meanwhile, in case you missed it, you can check out a small update from the beginning of September.
