Following Nvidia’s latest event which saw a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077 debuting, rumors began circling over on Reddit that CD Projekt Red’s upcoming RPG could end up being quite beefy when it comes to the install size. Fortunately, those rumors were quickly debunked by CDPR itself.
Over on Twitter, CD Projekt’s Global Community Lead, Marcin Momot, addressed the rumors that Cyberpunk 2077 could be in the neighborhood of 200GB. Momot said that while the studio has yet to announce specifics regarding the system requirements for the PC version of the game just yet, it officially “won’t take up 200GB when installed.” Despite not giving a firm installation size just yet, Momot then said that fans can “expect the required HDD space to be on par with other modern titles.”

Even though it’s a good thing that Cyberpunk 2077 won’t be taking up a gaudy 200 gigs on PC, it stands to reason that the game will still be quite massive. By “modern” standards, it seems that most AAA titles nowadays are at the very least near or above 100GB in total. Considering just how large of a game Cyberpunk 2077 will be, something in this neighborhood wouldn’t be shocking. Then again, CDPR does have some optimization wizards on its staff, so maybe the final install size will be much lower than expected.
Regardless, the game itself is continuing to draw quite near and will release on November 19. At launch, it will be coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC, with updated versions scheduled to hit PS5 and Xbox Series X afterward.
