Hideo Kojima has not shied away from CD Projekt Red’s Cyberpunk 2077. The esteemed producer featured in some awesome promotional material for the title leading up to launch and may or may not feature somewhere within the game. The synergy between the two doesn’t stop there either. First revealed today by IGN, before appearing on the Kojima Productions Twitter account, is a crossover between Cyberpunk 2077 and Kojima’s most recent title, Death Stranding.

The crossover, which is only available on the PC version of Death Stranding, adds a range of new items, cosmetics and abilities for Sam Porter Bridges to wield.

Like in Cyberpunk, Porter Bridges will gain a new hacking ability. This ability can stun enemies with Odradeks, as well as being able to disable MULE sensor poles and enemy vehicles. The game also adds a Reverse Trike, much like the one Kojima was seen posing on in the promotional material, a range of fashion items and an equipable “Johnny Arm”, reminiscent of the one seen on Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk.

The update is available for the PC version for free right now and Kojima Productions has confirmed that anybody who doesn’t own the game yet can pick it up with a 50% discount.

Kojima Productions just turned five. In the lead up to the studio’s anniversary, the official Twitter account tweeted a cryptic message suggesting that big announcements would be coming from themselves. Unfortunately for excited fans, these big announcements turned out to be nothing more than a range of new merch and a video clip of Kojima winning his BAFTA.

Cyberpunk 2077’s launch, for better or worse, has been one of this year’s biggest in gaming. The title secured eight million pre-orders before the game came out and turned a profit on day one. While the game was commercially very successful, critically it was a different story. Although the PC version of the title launched to plenty of fanfare, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game were completely broken. This lead the CD Projekt Red team to issue apologies, offer refunds and lose $1 billion. That’s not even considering the fact that the game caused seizures due to certain light patterns.
