UK publisher Curve Digital sent out a tweet today announcing two titles coming to the Nintendo Switch: No Brakes Games’ Human: Fall Flat and The Molasses Flood’s The Flame in the Flood. Unfortunately no release window (update: TFitF is coming out in October) or price was given with the message but the cost will probably be similar to the Steam versions, around $14.99 USD.

For those unfamiliar, Human: Fall Flat came out about a year ago for PC. It was ported to the Xbox One and PS4 earlier this year and still maintained it’s purposefully frustrating control scheme. The basic premise is to take your white blob of a figurine and awkwardly grab things with all four appendages to move through different levels and puzzles. The game also features co-op so you can have just as much trouble as your friend trying to understand the physics of the game. And really, that’s where the charm lies.

The Flame in the Flood is a completely different experience. However, much like H:FF, the game started out on Steam in 2016 and then was ported to the PS4 this year with the ‘complete edition‘. Here you’re trapped in a river-bound roguelike that has you scrounging for resources on and off your raft. This tale of sailing down the ruinous swamps of an America lost in time is procedurally generated in gameplay and story. And with ex-staff that worked on BioShock, you know the tales are going to be good.

While neither of these picks by Curve Digital are going to use the Switch in any ‘specific’ (ie gimmicky) way, it’s nice to see more indies coming to Nintendo’s hybrid console. Until then feel free to check out our own Lou Contaldi’s review of The Flame in the Flood, where he gave the Xbox One version a 7.5. He also called it a ‘solid recommendation for anyone looking to diversify their catalog with a short, challenging, and artistically crafted indie title.’

And as for Human: Fall Flat, I highly recommend you watch the wobbly trailer. It’s really amusing to see in action and I can see why Curve Digital snatched it up for their catalog:
