Today Funcom released a brand new trailer of its upcoming survival game Conan Exiles, that has been in Early Access on Steam for about fourteen months, and a shorter period in Xbox One Game Preview.

The game is getting a full release on May 8th, and this time around perspective barbarians on PS4 will be able to join the fray, after having been left out due to the lack of an Early Access-like program on Sony’s console.

At launch, the game will receive a revamped combat system, the volcano and swamp biomes (which add to the desert and frozen north), the Purge NPC invasion system, the worship of Darketo and more.

The accompanying press release came with a comment from Funcom CEO Rui Casais.

“We wanted to make sure leaving Early Access is something more than just removing the Early Access label and saying we’re done. Besides being the first time it’s available on PlayStation 4, the launch of Conan Exiles brings with it a massive expansion of the game world, game-changing new features such as monster invasions known as the purge and an entirely new action-oriented combat system, as well as many other major additions that truly makes this the ultimate vision of Conan Exiles. If you were ever on the fence, or you are just discovering it for the first time, May 8th is the time to join the adventure.”

If you’re curious to read more about the game, you can check out my own hands-on preview. It’s a bit old, and a lot has been implemented since, but it’ll still give you an idea of what to expect.
