Today Funcom showcased the very first gameplay video of the upcoming Xbox One version of its open world survival game Conan Exiles.

The game will launch on Xbox One Game Preview on August 16th, alongside the release of the new “The Frozen North” expansion.

In a recent interview with DualShockers, Game Director Joel Bylos explained that the Xbox One version runs at “relatively stable 30 frames per second” and 900p native resolution. It’s worth mentioning that the UI is rendered at 1080p, and that the overall level of detail is “roughly equivalent” to Medium on PC, with “some settings tweaked one way or the other.”

Of course, this is a Game Preview version, so there is still plenty of room for improvement until the game fully launches in Q1 2018 (also on PS4 and PC). Bylos mentions in the video that there are currently places on Xbox One where the frame rate drops and stutters a little, but the team is working with the goal to achieve a stable frame rate. The control system and the UI have also been redesigned to match console gameplay on Xbox One.

Incidentally, you’ll be able to read the full interview on DualShockers tomorrow, so you can look forward to that as well.

The press release announcing the video also included a comment by Funcom Head of Games, Lawrence Poe:

“We are thrilled to be opening up the gates of Conan Exiles to gamers on Xbox One. This version of Conan Exiles benefits from the six months of content updates, improvements, and enhancements done to the PC version during our first phase of Early Access. The launch of Xbox Game Preview paired with the release of The Frozen North expansion update marks the beginning of the second phase of Early Access for us, and the game is now bigger and better than ever. There is still work to do before full launch, but we are on track and very excited about what the future holds for Conan Exiles.”

The Xbox One version of the game will have both PvP and PvE servers, some of which will have faster progression rates, while others will feature the normal curve. Some servers will also include specific PvP time windows. Private servers can be rented (there is no need to have an extra Xbox One for it) through an option in the main menu.

Today we finally get to see the game in action just below. If you want to see more, you can also enjoy the latest reveal of the expansionearlier trailers for the Xbox One version and the new biome, alongside our hands-on preview of the PC version, and our previous interview with Joel Bylos.

The game is also currently available on PC via Steam Early Access.
