A few days ago, Square Enix revealed that the team behind their 3-on-3 fighting title, Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, would be adding in Squall’s appearance and weapon from the original Kingdom Hearts as an unlockable cosmetic costume. Now, they’ve also revealed that Cloud will be receiving his epic appearance from the Kingdom Hearts series on June 5. You can check out the first image of the costume down below.

Cloud’s design in Kingdom Hearts is notably interesting because it differs quite a lot when compared to his appearance in Final Fantasy VII. It’s also just so incredibly over the top. He has a metal claw equipped that’s very similar to Vincent Valentine’s, another character from Final Fantasy VII and the protagonist of Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII. Additionally, Cloud has a wing on one side of his back, which is parallel to Sephiroth’s similar wing.

We sat down with the director of Dissidia Final Fantasy NT, Takeo Kujiraoka, to talk about upcoming characters, costumes, and more content throughout 2019. The team would like to bring characters from previous Dissidia games as well as newcomers to NT in the coming months. Kujiraoka-san also said that he’d like to revisit the one-on-one format of the PSP games, but for now, their focus is on this latest title.

In case you haven’t been keeping up with all things Cloud and Final Fantasy, Square Enix just re-revealed Final Fantasy VII Remake during PlayStation’s latest State of Play. Additionally, we learned that the game is still being created in an episodic format, so it’ll be interesting to see how the development team pulls that off.

Dissidia Final Fantasy is available now on PS4 and PC. You can also try the free-to-play version of the game on all of the previously mentioned platforms.
