In 1992, Delphine Software and U.S. Gold released Flashback, a cinematic 2D platformer, on the Amiga, before bringing it to several other platforms in the following years. This game, along with Another World, was critically acclaimed upon release and highly influential. Now, just like Another World, Flashback will be coming to Nintendo Switch on June 7.

This port is being handled by Paul Cuisset, one of the game’s original creators, and Microïds, who have previously released Gear.Club Unlimited on the system. The Switch port’s release will also help celebrate the 25th anniversary of Flashback’s release on the SNES, and will be receiving a limited physical collectors edition.

Flashback 25th Anniversary Collector’s Edition will include the base game, a cartridge-style metal case, an exclusive metal card, a 24 page game manual, and a digital copy of the game’s remastered soundtrack. Unfortunately, this physical release is currently only confirmed for Europe and Australia.

As for the game itself, the Nintendo Switch version of Flashback will let players choose between the original version and a Modern mode. The Modern version of Flashback will include new post-FX graphic filters, fully remastered music and sound, optional tutorials, and a rewind function that can be toggled for difficulty.
