Civilization 6 released on Nintendo Switch in November 2018 to critical acclaim. Getting to play such an expansive turn-based strategy game on the go was incredibly popular with the community. The game has since come to both PS4 and Xbox One as well, but the expansions released on PC have yet to make their way to Switch. That changes today and the developers at Firaxis have released a cute, new trailer for you to enjoy. Check it out below.
Personally, I would love to watch an entire movie based on that stop-motion animation on display in the first five seconds of that trailer. Those papercraft characters are absolutely adorable, especially the puppy. Hopefully, this is the first of a new series of ads being produced for the Switch.
That aside, it’s great to see the expansions coming to Nintendo’s portable. Both Rise and Fall and Gathering Storm come with the bundle. That equates to sixteen new civilizations, 18 new leaders, and a host of new features coming in one fell swoop. Firaxis has basically added hundreds of hours of new gameplay to the Switch version of Civilization 6 for $50. If that’s not great bang for your buck, I’m not sure what is.
Civilization 6 is available now on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One. The Switch version now has both expansions available for purchase in the digital shop. If you’re planning to do some traveling next week for the holiday and need a good game for the trip, I highly recommend picking up Civ 6.
