NieR:Automata Game of the YoRHa Edition for PlayStation 4 will grant access to an exclusive dynamic theme for your home screen on the console which was announced alongside the GOTY edition of the game and now has an image showing just what exactly it will look like. Sadly there is no video of the theme so we’re not entirely show how “dynamic” it will really be as themes are rarely super active.

This Game of the Year edition of NieR:Automata was first teased by an ESRB description that appeared in November 2018 and was set to come to PlayStation 4 and PC, leaving Xbox One out in the dust. It was officially announced by Yoko Taro, director of the game, in December 2018 in a bizarre tweet about adding numbers together to reach a meaningless number, just like life. It’s fitting for Yoko Taro, and somewhat related to the themes of NieR:Automata which centers on an eternal conflict between androids created by humans and machines sent to invade earth by unseen aliens.

NieR:Automata also ended up surpassing 3.5 million physical and digital units sold worldwide across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in December 2018. The Game of the YoRHa edition will include the base game as well as the 3C3C1D119440927 expansion and the Machine Mask Accessory. Four new Pod designs are also set to be included in this edition: Grimoire Weiss, vintage gray Pod, red vintage Pod, and cardboard Pod. Those who purchase the game via PSN also get a selection of fifteen PSN avatars, the Pod console skin, and the amazarash Head Pod Skin. Steam purchasers get two wallpapers, which is a pretty weak offering.

Despite some fan complaints, Square Enix has not stated whether this theme will be available to purchase separately or given for free to those who already own NieR:Automata.

Continuing NieR:Automata‘s dominance beyond 2017, 2B was announced as a guest character in Soulcalibur VI, joining Geralt of Rivia from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. You can check out a ton of screenshots of her in-action as well as her alternate outfit in our image gallery. For those who want a physical representation of their love for NieR:Automata you can purchase figurines of A2 and 2B as well as their respective pods via Square Enix’s Japan and North American store respectively.
