Canada Cup 2018 starts today, which marks the last open bracket premier event for the Capcom Pro Tour before The Capcom Cup. This event is one of the last chance opportunities for players to be qualified for this year’s Capcom Cup on December 14. However, this tournament might be one of the most stacked tournaments since EVO.
With around 275 competitors, this bracket is stacked with big names including Tokido, Daigo Umehara, and recent EVO champion Problem-X. Though all three of those names are already well qualified for the Finals, we see people on the cusp of qualifying such as John Takeuchi and Smug. Regardless of who is coming out on top, you can look forward to a weekend full of crucial matches and bloodbaths in these stacked brackets.
The tournament is also home to the Dragon Ball FighterZ World Tour and the Tekken World Tour, so there’s plenty to watch this weekend if you aren’t particularly looking for some high-level Street Fighter V action. The only events left before the Capcom Cup are Red Bull Conquest Regional Finals and the Latin America Regional Finals.
