Call of Duty: WWII PC Open Beta Coming on September 29th; Minimum Requirements Revealed

Today Sledgehammer Games announced that the open multiplayer beta of Call of Duty: WWII on PC will begin on September 29th on Steam, ending on October 2nd.

The beta includes just a small part of the whole multiplayer experience of the game, but it shall be enough to get a taste of the game and to test the netcode, as it happened with PS4 and Xbox One players.

The test has the goal to stress test core systems and the online infrastructure with the scale provided by a big crowd of gamers, give PC players with their first hands-on experience of the game, and getting feedback from the community to fine-tune the game on Windows.

On top of that we get the minimum specs for the beta, so you can see if your rig can run it at all. The recommended specs weren’t included in the announcement, but the developer promised that they’ll come with the next update. You can read them below, keeping in mind that they shouldn’t be considered final for the full game.

  • OS: Windows 7 64-Bit or later
  • CPU: Intel® Core™ i3 3225 or equivalent
  • RAM: 8 GB RAM
  • HDD: 25 GB HD space
  • Video: NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 660 @ 2 GB / AMD Radeon™ HD 7850 @ 2GB or better
  • DirectX: Version 11.0 compatible video card or equivalent
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Sound Card: DirectX Compatible

Pre-load information and more information the content of the PC beta will also come in the next few days.

If you’re more interested in the console version, today Activision and Sony Interactive Entertainment announced a rather spiffy limited edition PS4 bundle with the game.

Call of Duty: WWII will also release on PC, PS4 and Xbox One on November 3rd.
