For the folks like myself who still play Call of Duty: WWII like myself, you now have some new free content to dive into. Today, developer Sledgehammer Games and publisher Activision surprisingly announced a brand new in-game event for the first-person shooter titled Operation Liberty Strike in order to celebrate America’s upcoming birthday.

The event itself includes the same amount of content as every other event. Players will be able to get their hands on three new ranged weapons and a new Push Dagger melee weapon. The ZK-383 submachine gun allows players to switch between two different fire rates, the De Lisle sniper rifle includes a built-in suppressor and the AVS-36 is essentially a fully-automatic version of the SVT-40.

In addition to that, the Operation Liberty Strike event will also see the return of the One Shot and Hardcore Ricochet game modes, although we have no idea when we’ll be able to play them.

Finally, players will have a new community challenge to take part in and if they succeed, it’ll net you two exclusive variants of the M1 Garand and the M1911, as well as an assortment of calling cards and emblems.

If you don’t own Call of Duty: WWII, you can fix that by picking it up on Amazon by clicking here.
