If you are a day-to-day player of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, you have probably downloaded the new update which went live earlier today. Aside from adding new mods and playlists, this new update brings some new maps, including the Firebase Z map for the Zombies. However, if you were expecting to jump into the game right after downloading the update and start Firebase Z Easter Egg quests, I have some bad news for you.
According to Treyarch, the Firebase Z Easter Egg quests won’t be activated until February 5. The reason behind the decision is yet to be known, but the developers probably want to give you a little bit of time to explore and learn the map without searching for easter eggs, but that could result in a worse situation. Currently, the map is online across all platforms and PC players can easily dig into the map’s files and find some crucial clues on easter egg quests. Of course, nothing has been come out yet, but keep an eye out for the social media until the launch of Firebase Z Easter Egg quests as you might get spoiled.
The main Easter Egg quest in #FirebaseZ will be disabled at launch until 9AM PT / 12PM ET / 5PM GMT Friday, Feb. 5 to make sure everyone can start the hunt on equal footing.

If you are unfamiliar with the Easter Egg quests in the Zombies mode of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War, it’s basically a step-by-step quest, where you have to collect some items from various locations, avoid some traps, and beat the boss fight at the final step.
Aside from the Firebase Z map, the new update brings Express map along with four additional Prop Hunt maps and Nuketown ’84 for Gunfight mode. In the case of playlists, you will get a new 3v3 Gunfight Sniper Only mode and a 40-player Endurance mode as soon as you install the new update.
Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War is now available on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
