French publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Cyanide Studio are currently showing off their Lovecraftian horror game Call of Cthulhu at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany. Today, the also released a video highlighting what they are showcasing at the event: Edward Pierce’s investigation of the Hawkins Mansion.

For those of you unfamiliar with the game, Call of Cthulhu is an investigative adventure horror game based on the pen and paper RPG of the same name from Chaosium. The game follows the story of Edward Pierce, who begins to learn about the horrors of the world and slowly loses his mind as he investigates the murder of the prestigious Hawkins family on the eerie Darkwater Island.

While I experienced some gampelay from later in Call of Cthulhu at E3 2018, this gameplay trailer opts to showcase when Edward first arrives at the mansion towards the beginning of the game. This video highlights various different aspects of gameplay, including dialogue confrontations with the off-kilter locals and investigating various aspects of the environment with the help of upgradable stats and abilities.

You can check out the Hawkins Mansion gameplay video below. Call of Cthulu is poised to hit PC, PS4, and Xbox One on October 30, and you can already pre-order it on Amazon.
