Developer Revolution Software and publisher Ravenscourt revealed today that they would be bringing Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse, the latest entry in the popular adventure game series, to Nintendo Switch on September 21.

This will mark the first time the Broken Sword series has appeared on a Nintendo console since Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars – Director’s Cut hit the Nintendo DS and Wii in 2009. According to the developers, this version of the game will cost $29.99, but will feature special Behind the Scenes movies and a completely overhauled UI.

The new Behind the Scenes clips will unlock as player progress through the game, and will give players a glimpse at the game’s development process while also featuring brand new interviews with its developers. Meanwhile, the reworked UI will fit the Nintendo Switch well, and is able to accommodate both playing with the Joy-Cons and with touch screen controls.

For those of you who have yet to be introduced, Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse is a adventure game that follows lawyer George Stobbart and journalist Nico Collard as they attempt to unravel a conspiracy linked to several murders in Paris. Charles Cecil, Founder and CEO of Revolution Software, commented on bringing Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse to Nintendo Switch:

“The Nintendo Switch is so wonderfully accessible – and adventures offer the ideal portable game experience. We were determined to make the most of the Nintendo’s innovative hardware with exclusive content and controls. This really is the ideal way to experience Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse.”

Broken Sword 5 – The Serpent’s Curse is currently available for PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, PS Vita, PS4, and Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch will be added to that lineup on September 21.
